¡ ´˜^E—vŽ| | In order to collect and manage various kinds of underground data systematically, the CESS has developed a Geological/ Geotechnical Information System called the analytical database system for environmental geotechnology of Saitama. Using this system mainly, some researches have been conducted in Saitama prefecture and the adjoining regions. For instance, an urban geology project has been carried out in the Nakagawa lowland, clarified the configurations of two major underground incised valleys and some tributary valleys. The detailed sedimentary facies analysis and radiocarbon dating using borehole cores elucidated the sequence stratigraphy of the buried valley fills and the paleoenvironment during the latest Pleistocene to Holocene in the lowland. |
